Students for Life expresses sympathy to the family and friends of Joe Scheidler, the “Godfather” of the Pro-Life Movement
“Joe represents the kind of commitment that inspires pro-life Americans working to address the human rights issue of our day,” said SFLA’s Kristan Hawkins. “When Roe tragically legalized abortion, Joe left his career to dedicate his life to saving babies and their mothers from the predators of abortion. He will be missed.”
WASHINGTON D.C. (1-18-2021) – Students for Life of America President Kristan Hawkins expressed the sympathies of the entire SFLA team on the passing of Joe Scheidler of the Pro-Life Action League. “Joe’s love for his family extended to the families of so many others, and he will be very missed,” said Hawkins. Joe passed at 93, surrounded by his family, according to the Chicago Sun Times.

Students for Life of America (SFLA) is the nation’s largest, pro-life, youth organization. Headquartered in Fredericksburg, VA, SFLA serves more than 1,240 groups on college and university, middle and high school, medical and law school campuses in all 50 states. Student pro-life organizations work to confront policies on their campuses to support pregnant and parenting students, to end Planned Parenthood’s relationships with schools and communities, and to change minds of their peers about abortion. SFLA has more conversations with those most targeted by the abortion industry every day, week, and year than any other pro-life entity.
